How to Measure Correctly for Suspenders

If you want to get a set of suspenders, the best thing to do is to take the time to measure. Any kind of tape measure will do, but if you can, get a cloth one.

Start at the front where your turnouts attach, and you’re going to measure the distance from front right at the center of the tabs, if you’ve got that style, and run the tape over your shoulder, pull it tight (making sure you keep a good posture), and take the measurement to the back tabs. You want to go straight line distance, front right to back right or front left to back left.

If you don’t have the tabs and you have the turnouts with the snaps, measure the distance from where the D-ring would attach from the front right to the back right. Or from the front left to the back left.
